American former journalist at The Washington Post Marisa Kashino is set to make a splash with her debut novel Best Offer Wins, published in January 2026.

The satirical thriller follows a woman going to extreme lengths to buy her dream home, which she believes will save her marriage, career and family. The Bookseller named it their fiction book of the month for January, describing it as ‘utterly unputdownable’. Ahead of its release, Best Offer Wins has been picked up by Hulu for a TV adaption, with Greta Lee due to star and Suzanne Heathcote writing.
